Harmonie Voorschoten
Music Society “Harmonie Voorschoten” was founded in 1989 as a performing orchestra. After a modest beginning, both the membership and the musical level of the orchestra have experienced a positive development.
The association now consists of about 40 enthusiastic members, ranging from young to old and from beginning student to advanced with extensive orchestra experience. Making music together with pleasure is central to Harmonie Voorschoten.
The harmony performs on various occasions. Annual performances include a large annual concert in the spring, a Christmas or New Year's concert in the winter, and an outdoor concert during the Weekend of Voorschoten in September. In addition, the harmony performs several smaller concerts, some in smaller ensembles.
The choice of music ranges from light classical to popular. The annual concert and the New Year's concert are a combination of some larger concert works with light and popular music. The other performances emphasize popular and recognizable music. A theme is usually chosen for the annual concert.
