PJPJ JazzFest in Cultureel Centrum Voorschoten

The small-scale character of the PJPJ Jazz Festival, in honour of founder Piet Wezepoel, allows young talents from School Jong Talent (8-18 years old), jazz students and experienced jazz musicians as well as visitors to meet in an atmospherically intimate setting. Three generations of musicians come together. This cross-pollination is unique and a great learning experience for the young jazz talents.

The main act this year is Mirjam van Dam Quintet with Mirjam van Dam, vocals, Rob van Bavel, on piano, Frans van Geest on bass, Marcel Serierse on drums and Niels Tausk on trumpet.

NEW is a short performance by three generations of jazz musicians, Sehee Kim, Arjun Ramdas and Mirjam van Dam.

Between 6pm and 7.30pm, the very young jazz talents (8-18 years old) will perform in different line-ups in two halls. Other bands performing are:

- Daniel Sueiro Trio ft Dennis Junio, saxophone and bassist Arjun Ramdas and drummer Nikiforos Bournousouzis),
- Sungjea Oh Quintet (Sungjea Oh, guitar, Geraldo Sibbald, saxophone, Seyeon Lee, double bass, Davids Eglitis, drums and Sujin Park piano),
- K54 Trio (with Egidio Gentile, drums, Enrico Le Noci, guitar, Mauro Cottone, double bass),
- CROSSWORD (with Jieun Park, violin, Jack Huddlestone, piano, Tian Yi Zhang, double bass and Julian Escobar Aguirre, drums).
- At the end, there will be a jam session.
