On May 4, 2025, Voorschoten commemorates victims of wars. As in previous years, there will be a gathering in the Dorpskerk after the official commemoration at the war memorial. This year, Sinfonietta Voorschoten, the Protestant Municipality of Voorschoten and poets from Poëzie Voorschoten will provide a beautiful program, alternating poems and music.

Poetry will be provided by poets Cobi Nieuwstad and Ine Duijnkerke on behalf of Poëzie Voorschoten, who use their own work to express events from World War II and the quest for peace and freedom. In addition, Nelleke Slootweg will recite two poems, on behalf of the Dorpskerk.
